as Model NC-856 and NC-856N Norclub and NC-856H Hydravion Prototype 105 hp Walter Minor 4-III: Later modified to 856A prototype ff 3/51 with 135hp Regnier 4LO4 Then to 856B with 4-seat cabin and 105 hp Walter Minor 4-III NC-856H Hydravion - Floatplane version of 856A (H=hydravion) Regnier 4L engine and triple-fin tail. NC-856N: civil version with 4 seats 160hp Regnier 4LO8 engine . Several ex-military aircraft converted to this standard when sold off. |

Built as Model NC-856A Norvegie Production military version for ALAT with 3 seats &160 hp Regnier 4LO8. Const at Le Havre c/n 1 & 2 then at Meaulte c/n 3 to 112 Several saw service with ALAT in Morocco 1957-59. Replaced for front-line Army use by Nord 3400 in about 1958-61. Most survivors were then allocated to secondary units, including several with GAALEA/312 at Salon using F-SDYx callsigns and one with Aeronavale (s/n 26 F-YCZH=CAN8 with DCAN, St Tropez). Most French civilian registration allocations were not taken up. Several were not used at all, some just used short-term in 1964-65 for ferrying on Laissez Passer (temporary permit to fly). Many of these retgisrations were subsequently reallocated to other aircraft. |
